Before the BHAFC v West Ham match kick off at 2pm
We may be two months into a fake ceasefire, and Palestine and the genocide in Gaza has completely dropped out of the news headlines. But it’s essential we keep raising awareness about the continuing genocidal actions of the Israeli state.
In addition, our football Club is run by Zionists. BHAFC raise funds for Israel (The Bloom Foundation), they protect an employee (Tomer Hemed) who has spouted racist and genocidal social media comments and refuse to sanction club sponsors (MB Roofing) who spread racist hatred within our community. They also banned Seagulls supporter Roger Wade for FIVE YEARS after showing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
For comrades who can attend this Sunday, please be aware that we have placards and flyers. For various reasons, we haven’t had the funds (nor the time) to produce an updated flyer – so will hand out our previous leaflets. If people show interest in the contents of our old flyer we can fill them in with updated information.
We can tell them that Roger had a hearing with BHAFC to appeal his ban and was turned down. At the appeal he was not allowed to have legal representation, and had to present his own case. But Roger won’t take this lying down and is actively seeking legal advice as well as appealing to the Independent Football Ombudsman.

Another recent development not covered in our flyer, is the article in this Tuesday’s The Guardian and The Argus regarding Tony Bloom’s betting syndicate and involving a key aide to Nigel Farage. So apparently, not only is a club owner allowed to place bets on football matches, making vast sums of money (£600 million annually) but does so with a member of a Far Right political party.
