SEAGULLS AGAINST APARTHEID are requesting support for our peaceful protest outside Falmer station at 12 noon on Saturday 16 August before BHAFC’s home match against Fulham.

Over 421* Palestinian professional footballers have already been killed, as well as countless others who take part in the world’s favourite sport.

While the new football season is about to begin, Israel’s participation in the global game must end!

If you are a football supporter please wear your team’s colours and bring hats, scarfs and rattles!

WHEN: 12 Noon, Saturday 16 August

WHERE: Assemble outside Falmer Station (Main entrance)

* Correct at the time of going to press and according to the PFA (Palestinian Football Association) and a number of  other organisations. This includes players, coaches, referees, administrators, and club board members. However, the exact number is likely to be much higher, i.e. incomplete records due to the ongoing conflict, or missing people under rubble.

I hope Tomer Hemed is still on SAA’s agenda. It is extraordinary that the club has not done or said anything about this

Rest assured John that we haven’t forgotten Tomer Hemed and the club’s public silence. However, our next action will focus on the shocking effect Israel’s genocide in Gaza and brutal Apartheid in the occupied West Bank has had on Palestinian football: at least 421 footballers murdered and stadia destroyed. In addition, the footballing authorities and their cowardly inability to kick Israel out of international competition. We also want to test the water by demonstrating at Falmer (rather than at Brighton Station) – so a wider focus on Israel and Palestinian football seemed to be a good way to do that. If it goes well – we will definitely consider re-focusing on Hemed – especially as it will soon be a year since he posted those infamous Instagram messages.
